Vincent Barone ’25, MS ’26, transformed the best parts of his Quinnipiac experience into a post-graduate, full-time role at the MLB Draft League.

After graduating with undergraduate degrees in computer information systems and business analytics and a master’s degree in applied AI and business analytics, Barone landed a job with the Williamsport Crosscutters as a data coordinator.

“I will be serving as the data coordinator, where I will be working with the players and coaching staff on scouting reports, using analytics and video to help with player development,” said Barone.

Barone said he is grateful for the support he had from the many resources available at Quinnipiac, especially from the Office of Career Development & Experiential Learning.

“The Quinnipiac career development office really helped me improve my resume; it also created a lot of opportunities for me, whether I emailed the athletic office if any team needed data help or just giving me the chance to work in groups,” said Barone.

Barone also has had many opportunities to become directly involved with sports analysis while at Quinnipiac. He served as a volunteer data analyst for the Quinnipiac Division I women’s golf team.

“I would analyze the players' games and understand their game, what made them score and what held them back,” said Barone. “Based on the analysis, if I found something that could be worked on, I would bring it to the attention of the coach. I was fortunate to be a part of the team, especially the last two seasons, as the team won the MAAC championship.”

Barone was also a leader on the club golf team, serving as treasurer and vice president.

Taking his leadership a step further, Barone founded the Quinnipiac Sports Analytics Club to provide students with the opportunity to collaborate and grow their skills in sports analytics.

Since starting the club, Barone has helped the involvement in sports analytics grow exponentially.

“I was passionate about this profession, and I want to provide myself and other Quinnipiac students with the opportunity to discuss sports analytics learn and grow in the industry,” said Barone. “When I founded the club in the fall of 2024, there were 12 people at the meetings, and this year we had more than 60 at our first meeting."
