University celebrates its employees reaching milestone anniversaries

The university community came together to celebrate faculty and staff at an employee recognition celebration on May 18.

President Judy Olian praised the hundreds of employees attending in-person and virtually for "making the year a tremendous success."

"You are the reason that our students feel so cared for, that they grow and thrive at Quinnipiac," she said. "Despite the hard challenges of the last two years, you got us through it."

She said she is reminded every day of how lucky she is to be part of this family

"You’re the reason we got here, and today we celebrate you," Olian said. "The faculty and staff at Quinnipiac are the essence of the institution. You are Quinnipiac, and Quinnipiac is what it is because of you. I sensed it from the first day I joined the university – there’s a very special vibe here, a tremendous amount of pride.

She also shared some impressive stats about the employees the university honored:

48% of our employees have been at Quinnipiac for 10 years or more
13% have been at the university for more than 25 years
32 retirees were honored, with an average tenure of 22 years and a combined 716 years of dedicated service to the university
214 employees have reached an important milestone in their time with the university
In all, the university celebrated more than 3,465 years of dedication, service, and collective passion for the university
