“It is a statement to the children that being bald isn’t something that they should be ashamed of – and that they are brave and beautiful,” said Nicole Geer-Laureano ’17, traditions and community chair of the Student Programming Board. “They have people who support them in their fight.”

The fight is particularly personal for Tyler Cabral ‘17, a biomedical sciences major.

“I can identify with St. Baldrick’s due to the loss of a childhood friend who passed of cancer,” said Cabral, who is a regular participant. “People are coming together from different groups and cultures from around the world to celebrate the lives of others, and stand together bald to show our support for those effected.”
