Women's basketball wins MAAC, advances to NCAA Tournament

The Quinnipiac women’s basketball team earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament on Monday when it defeated Rider, 81-73, to win the 2017 MAAC Women’s Basketball Championship Game at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York.

With the win, the Bobcats improve to 27-6 on the season. This is the third time in five years the team has advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

The team will find out its opening round NCAA Tournament opponent and site when the selection show takes place on ESPN on Monday at 7 p.m.
