Congratulations on choosing Quinnipiac University! You are now part of a cohort of talented, ambitious and dynamic students. Just a year ago today, I was in your position as an incoming student, nervous and excited to start the next stage of my educational journey at Quinnipiac University.

My name is Owenea Roberts and I am serving as your Student Government Association (SGA) president for the 2022-2023 academic year. I am a senior 3+1 BS/MBA accounting major and an international student from Bermuda. Additionally, I am proud to be the first international student and youngest person to be elected as SGA president.

Enough about me, let’s focus on you; Quinnipiac University offers a multitude of opportunities to positively impact your experience while here for college. We offer over 140 unique student organizations so, regardless of who you are, there will be a group that will help make you feel at home. From media organizations to cultural and identity groups, to academic clubs and to the Student Government Association, there is always a way for you to get connected and make new friends on campus.

I am looking forward to connecting with you all when you arrive in the Fall. Quinnipiac is a special place that I am proud to call my second home, and I hope the same will happen for you. Do not hesitate to get outside your comfort zone, you never know what you are going to find and where it may lead you. Lastly, please know I will be here as a resource for you next year, both as a fellow Bobcat and as your student body president.
