University honors outstanding faculty, staff

President John L. Lahey announces this year's Center for Excellence honorees at Convocation on.

The university is honoring a total of 6 outstanding faculty and staff members this fall for their extraordinary service to our students — both inside and outside of the classroom.

President John L. Lahey announced that the following members of #BobcatNation will be honored at our annual Center for Excellence in Teaching and Service to Students ceremony on October 19 on our Mount Carmel Campus:

Excellence in Teaching honorees

  • Margarita Diaz, associate professor and chair of journalism

  • Courtney McGinnis, associate professor of biology

  • Kiku Jones, associate professor of computer information services

Excellence in Service to Students honorees

  • Nick Yoia, associate vice president and director of financial aid

  • Anna Gilmore, director of prehealth advising

  • Stephen Allegretto, assistant controller

The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Service to Students encourages, supports and recognizes superior teaching and service to students at Quinnipiac. The center serves as an important vehicle in helping the university to achieve its educational mission, consistent with its three core values: high quality academic programs, a student-oriented environment and a sense of community.
