Quinnipiac is a great college to work for, as determined by a comprehensive industry survey.

The results were released today and are based on a survey of 236 colleges and universities. “Great Colleges to Work For®” is the largest and most comprehensive workplace study conducted in higher education.

In all, 85 of the 236 institutions achieved “Great College to Work For” recognition for specific best practices and policies. Results are reported for small, medium, and large institutions, with Quinnipiac included among the medium universities (3,000-9,999 students).

“We are honored to be recognized for a fifth year as a ‘Great College to Work For’ and for the third year in a row on the Honor Roll,” said Anna Spragg, associate vice president for human resources & total rewards.

“Our employees are continuously establishing Quinnipiac as a University of the Future with a distinct culture that thrives on change and encourages entrepreneurial thinking while at the same time cultivating a warm and welcoming community. We value our employees as each one plays a vital role in creating an outstanding student experience and preparing our graduates for 21st century careers and citizenship.”

Quinnipiac earned top honors in the following categories this year: Collaborative Governance; Compensation & Benefits; Confidence in Senior Leadership; Job Satisfaction; Respect and Appreciation; Supervisor/Department Chair Relationship; Teaching Environment (based on faculty responses only); and Tenure Clarity & Process (faculty responses only/four-year institutions only). Among the categories, this is Quinnipiac’s first time to be recognized in the Collaborative Governance and Confidence in Senior Leadership areas.

The survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institutional questionnaire that captured employment data and workplace policies from each institution, and a survey administered to full-time faculty, administration, staff and non-exempt employees. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the employee feedback.

“Great Colleges to Work For” is one of the largest and most respected workplace-recognition programs in the country. For more information and to view all the results of the survey, visit www.greatcollegesprogram.com.
