University to host interdisciplinary discussion of ‘RAGE’

February 06, 2020

A hub for theater students

Quinnipiac will host a panel discussion on the upcoming production of “RAGE” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, in EC-101. The interdisciplinary discussion will examine the decision to produce “RAGE,” a play adapted from writing by Stephen King that addresses gun violence in schools.

"The decision to produce a play centered on a school shooting was not made lightly," explained Kevin Daly, assistant professor of theater. 'We consulted with experts in related fields to discuss the implications of bringing this work to campus. The common refrain from everyone we spoke with: This is a topic that needs to be talked about."

Panelists include:

  • Elizabeth Dinkova, writer and director of “RAGE”

  • Don Sawyer, vice president for equity and inclusion at Quinnipiac

  • Kalfani Ture, assistant professor of criminal justice at Quinnipiac

  • Scarlett Lewis, founder of the Jesse Lewis Choose Love Movement

The panel will be moderated by Thomas Pruzinsky, professor of psychology at Quinnipiac.
