While the Quinnipiac community continues to respond to and recover from the various impacts of COVID-19, the university also realizes that this is not a time to put the future on hold. The university is equally as focused on how it will continue to help its students thrive over the long term and prepare for whatever the next weeks, months and years may hold.
QU anticipates returning to in-classroom instruction and on-campus activities this fall, but its final plans will be shaped by guidelines from government and health officials to facilitate the safe return to school. With its community’s health and safety top of mind – along with continuing high-quality academics – Quinnipiac has four dedicated planning groups examining every facet of what makes the university a special home away from home for students, and a place where lifelong learning happens and lifelong relationships are formed.
Even though students have remained home since spring break, the university continues to be a hub of activity and advancement. On Friday, May 8, the university celebrated its Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine’s Class of 2020 at a virtual Commencement. Throughout this week, #BobcatNation will come together to celebrate the graduates of its undergraduate, graduate and law programs with special digital content. The School of Nursing will transform its pinning ceremony — which has traditionally been held on campus — into a virtual celebration. The university continues to be committed to holding in-person Commencement ceremonies for its undergraduate, graduate and law students when it is safe to do so. Details will be shared as they are available.
In addition, the university this week will welcome its newest graduate students at a virtual orientation. Representatives from across the university are working to finalize an orientation plan for its newest undergraduate and law students, as well.
The university will welcome prospective students and their families to a virtual open house on Saturday, May 16. Faculty and staff will introduce future Bobcats to the student experience, academics and highlight what makes a Quinnipiac education unique. Prospective students' questions will be answered live in the engaging event.
Next week, summer classes begin at Quinnipiac. Summer Session I will be online and details are still being reviewed for Summer Session II, which begins in July. Check out a complete listing of the interesting offerings available throughout the two summer sessions.
