“I believe it is so important for all members of the college environment, students and staff combined to find positive outlets for stress,” explained the behavioral neuroscience major. “Not only does fitness provide individuals with the ability to feel empowered and strong, but it allows us to soak up a sensation of calmness and clarity following that release of tension and sometimes negative energy.”
Cooper said that staying fit may be more important now than ever.
“Exercise is especially important during this time because we need that opportunity to shut off the screen in order to give both our minds and our bodies the opportunity to recharge,” she said.
She worked with other members of #BobcatNation to transition traditional classes online through Zoom.
“I am incredibly grateful for the fitness community here at Quinnipiac,” Cooper said. “I hope to encourage people who may have not felt open to fitness in the past to engage in the resources we are providing at this time. Our instructors will always try to help however they can.”
Cooper teaches yoga on Fridays at 9:30 a.m. Fitness classes are available daily. Students can find the link on MyQ, under Fitness and Recreation.
