The Legends

The Quinnipiac Legends acapella group finished first in the Northeast Quarterfinals for the Varsity Vocals International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella competition. The victory places the team among the top 20 acapella groups in the United States.

“This is a core memory — especially for the seniors who have been working toward this since we were first-year students,” said Stephanie Morrow ’22, president of the organization. “When we found out, everyone was crying, hugging and jumping. It was just an amazing moment to share together.”

The team — comprised of 3 first-year students, 7 sophomores, 3 juniors and 5 seniors — also earned two special awards. Jake McCarthy ’25 earned best vocal percussion and Nina Pezzello ’23 earned best choreography for the group’s performance.

The Legends will next compete this weekend in the semifinals against other leading universities, including Harvard, Berklee and Northeastern.
