Quinnipiac's Community Action Project had members of the Wallingford Senior Center moving and grooving this spring.

The community service-focused student organization hosted a dance party earlier this semester after a successful kick-off event last year.

The organization, which tries to organize more than two dozen service events each semester, hosted a black-tie event — complete with a red carpet — for the region's senior citizens.

“The attendees loved the event and dancing with Quinnipiac students. They loved the trivia and used the photo booth to make memories with their friends,” said Abigail Wendehack ’24, who co-chairs CAP's elderly branch with Madeline Johnson ’24.

The dance took four months to organize, Wendehack said.

The Hollywood-themed event attracted about 100 people — from the Wallingford senior community and Quinnipiac student community. The balloons, decorations and centerpieces were set up with a dance floor for the night with big dance hits like the "Sweet Caroline."

In addition to dancing, the seniors participated in Hollywood trivia, enjoyed snacks and a photo booth — complete with fun props.
