Rachel Aaron ‘22, MS ‘23 has scored a new position with the New Jersey Devils as part of their partnership activation staff after previously working for the Quinnipiac Athletics Department.

Sports have always been part of Aaron’s life, whether she was participating or a fan at a game, she has always loved the industry she says.

Her longtime passion for sports translated into her studies. Aaron graduated from the 4+1 masters of public relations program, with her bachelor's degree in advertising and integrated communications and a double minor in business management and sports studies.

“The School of Communications felt like home as soon as I walked into my first class back in 2018," said Aaron. "The faculty, staff and my classmates were there for academic support, internship advice, career planning, but most importantly they all cared about me as a student and their peer. Everyone wants to see you succeed and are more than happy to help you get there."

Apart from her heavy course load, Aaron worked for two years as a member of the Quinnipiac Athletic Department's Marketing and Fan Engagement team.

Aaron enthusiastically mentioned how working for the Quinnipiac Athletic Department was the highlight of her five years on campus.

“Bringing the skills that I had acquired from my internship in the year prior and applying them to something that now means so much to the Quinnipiac community is something that will forever be engraved in my mind,” said Aaron.

Aaron added her excitement for attaining her new job with the New Jersey Devils.

“It is so exciting to start this new position with the New Jersey Devils," said Aaron. "Working for Quinnipiac athletics has made me a huge fan of hockey, so getting to work in the industry on a professional level is a dream of mine."

Her responsibilities as a staff member of Game Day Partnership Activation include handling all sponsorship-related tasks. According to Aaron, this entails anything from escorting a VIP visitor for a unique experience to working on the concourse activations. The Fan Zam, which allows VIP visitors to ride around the rink on a Zamboni at the beginning of intermission, has been one of Aaron's favorite activities that she has worked on this season.

Aaron expressed that there are so many different paths one can take when it comes to advertising and public relations, but she’s extremely happy to have found her home in sports.
