Undergraduate students who take on two or more summer leadership roles, such as Summer RA or Orientation Leader, can now earn a micro-credential. This integrated program allows ambitious student leaders to assesses their development and competency growth across roles.
The Summer Leadership Residency recognizes students who take on multiple summer leadership roles and engage in an integrated development experience. Participants strengthen communication, supervision, problem‑solving and conflict‑management skills through onboarding, ongoing leadership conversations, reflection, community engagement and a culminating capstone project.

You are an undergraduate student at Quinnipiac
You are interested in developing strong communication, problem‑solving and leadership skills
You have already completed one summer leadership role and are considering another
Learners who complete the Summer Leadership Residency will:
Demonstrate effective communication through professional interactions with students, families, guests and campus partners.
Apply problem solving skills to solve operational challenges, make informed decisions and respond to dynamic summer campus needs.
Exhibit professionalism, responsibility and emotional intelligence when balancing multiple leadership roles and navigating real‑world contexts.
Apply leadership concepts in authentic residential and orientation environments.
Reflect on leadership identity and growth, integrating learning from multiple roles to articulate evolving strengths and goals.
Learners will be assessed through three complementary mechanisms: attendance verification, reflective writing and a culminating capstone. Each will be measured through clearly defined rubrics aligned with the Summer Leadership Residency learning objectives and QU Essential Learning Outcomes. There will also be a supervisor evaluation to round out external feedback from each role and ensure consistency.

These badges reflect the learner's acquisition of skills, vocabulary or best practices that will be beneficial and relevant outside of the classroom within an authentic working environment.
By earning a micro-credential, learners across a wide array of industries, verticals and professional fields are able to showcase the acquisition of specialized knowledge that offers unique value in the workplace. Micro-credentials are flexible and versatile, designed and delivered in an accelerated format by our experienced faculty and industry thought leaders who understand critical shortages and skills gaps.
All students who complete a micro-credential associated with academic credit or co-curricular experiences will receive a designation on their transcript and a digital badge through Credly. Micro-credential earners are encouraged to share their achievements on resumes, social media platforms and e-portfolios.
Learners can begin their pursuit of micro-credentials at any level; individuals who are new to the field are best suited for Participation or Level I badges, whereas experienced professionals might be more interested in advanced Level III Badges or Level IV Certifications.
