Learning Commons Workshop

Academic Coach, Nicole Girouard, recently presented at the University of Pittsburgh's 8th Annual Mentoring and Advising Summit. She is reprising her presentation as a workshop for Quinnipiac faculty adn staff. Few things are more frustrating than pulling up unclear notes before a follow up meeting, only to feel unprepared and unsure of what needs to be addressed. “Clean up your student meeting notes with S.O.A.P.” explores how a structured approach to note taking can transform student support. When meetings are clearly documented, it creates a foundation of accountability, ensuring both the student and coach (or advisor) are aligned on the same goals and action steps. This session focuses on how to format student meeting notes using S.O.A.P. and how these notes provide consistency, enhance communication, and lead to meaningful outcomes.
