One Book One University

One Book One University is a new initiative designed to foster connection and dialogue across our campus. This year, we have chosen A Pedagogy of Kindness by Catherine Denial as our shared text. Student well-being is at the center of a Pedagogy of Kindness. By making small but meaningful changes, we can reduce the stress that so many of our students carry and create opportunities for collaborative change that benefit the mental health of students and faculty/staff. This powerful book invites us to reflect on the transformative potential of kindness in education and its role in shaping equitable and compassionate learning environments. At this session, we will be discussing Chapter 2: Kindness and the Syllabus.
