Ae-Sook Kim

Associate Professor of Management

Dr. Ae-Sook Kim is an Associate Professor of management at Quinnipiac University. She obtained her Ph.D. degree from the Martin School of Public Policy and Administration at the University of Kentucky. Before she joined QU, Dr. Kim taught at Purdue University Fort Wayne. She had also worked as a researcher at the primary think-tank of the Seoul Metropolitan Government of South Korea. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of her academic training and work experience as a researcher working with a diverse group of scholars and practitioners, her research and teaching cover diverse areas.

As a scholar, Dr. Kim’s research agenda focuses on health and social policy, as well as health services research especially linked to nursing home quality. She has explored internal and external factors, and the resources affecting the facilities’ quality performance. Dr. Kim is also interested in policies and practices that promote diversity and inclusion in healthcare settings and higher education. She has published articles in leading journals such as the Journal of Health Politics, Policy, and Law, Health Care Management Review, the Policy Studies Journal, and the Social Science Journal as a sole author or the first and corresponding author. She is a member of several professional organizations including the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management, the American Society for Public Administration, and the American Public Health Association.
