He is Professor of Marketing, his primary areas of teaching are MBA645 Marketing Decision Making, MK612 New Product Development, MK334 Product and Price Management, MK201 Principles of Marketing. Primary areas of research include Branding, Cross-culture, Distribution Channel, High-Tech Marketing, Negotiation, New Product Strategy, and Service Research. Among numerous publication, he also won several excellence awards for some of the papers.

Before joining Quinnipiac in 2007, Professor Liu was Associate Professor at Butler University, Assistant Professor at University of Illiniois at Urbana-Champaign, Visiting Professor at Washington University in St. Louis since 1991. Before coming to USA for graduate study in 1986, he had 9-year business experience as Application Engineer, Marketing Manager, Purchasing Supervisor, and Managing Director, respectively, in several manufacturing & international trade companies.

Professor Liu enjoys classic music and also serves in several Christian organizations and churches as Board Member, Elder and Preacher.
