Dr. DeVonne Allen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with extensive experience in teaching, administration, and direct practice. With over a decade in social work higher education, she has specialized in field education, human behavior, clinical practice, and program administration. Before transitioning to academia, Dr. Allen dedicated thirteen years to providing therapeutic services to children and families in the foster care system in Westchester County, NY. She earned her PhD in Social Work from Fordham University in 2019. Her most recent research focused on the post-incarceration experiences of mothers and student perceptions of racism, bias, and discrimination within social work education programs. Currently, Dr. Allen aims to enhance community well-being through psychoeducation services, wellness activities, and workshops.
