Coordinator of First-Year Writing Program

Doctor Glenda Pritchett is Professor of English, Coordinator of the First-Year Writing Program, and Editor of Double Helix: A Journal of Critical Thinking and Writing. Her areas of interest include composition, Middle English language and literature, medieval romances, history of the English language, and more recently, popular culture, including the films of Clint Eastwood. She has served as Coordinator of First-Year Writing since 2008, and currently supervises thirty adjunct instructors. The program is comprised of the two-course sequence, EN101: Introduction to Academic Reading and Writing, and EN102: Academic Writing and Research. Double Helix was founded in 2013 for the purpose of sharing research and best practices in the use of writing to develop critical thinking skills and disciplinary expertise in higher education.
