Ivy Johnson-Kanda

Part-Time Faculty

Dr. Ivy Johnson-Kanda has several years of a unique blend of international experience and interdisciplinary expertise. With a Ph.D. in Public Health from the School of Public Health & Health Sciences at UMass Amherst, her research focuses on Social Network Analysis. Her academic credentials include an MBA in Healthcare Management from Quinnipiac University, an MS in Food Science from the University of Minnesota, and a BS (Honors) in Food Science and Nutrition from the University of Ghana.

Ivy's professional experience spans multiple sectors. For over a decade, she was a research scientist at Ghana's Food Research Institute, where she conducted community nutrition assessments and led technology transfer initiatives. Her teaching experience includes positions at Quinnipiac University's School of Business and College of Arts and Sciences, and at UMass Amherst, where she has taught courses ranging from business strategy to nutrition science.

As an active researcher, she has published in peer-reviewed journals on topics including organizational behavior, organizational leadership, microbiology, nutrition, and food science. Her work bridges the gap between public health, organizational behavior, business strategy, and healthcare delivery systems, providing students with valuable real-world insights into the complexities of management and leadership.
