Jennifer Gerarda Brown is Dean of the Quinnipiac University School of Law. She also teaches Civil Procedure and Lawyers’ Professional Responsibility. Brown has written and presented on these and other subjects, including alternative dispute resolution and LGBT legal issues.

Prior to joining the Quinnipiac law faculty, Brown served as a law clerk to the Honorable Harold A. Baker, U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois. She practiced law as a litigation associate at Winston & Strawn in Chicago Illinois, and taught law at the University of Chicago, Emory University, and Santa Clara University.

She joined the Quinnipiac School of Law faculty in 1994 and became a full professor in 1996. In 1997, she was named director of Quinnipiac’s Center on Dispute Resolution. She served in that capacity until 2013, when she became dean of the law school. In June of 2019, she was appointed interim executive vice president and provost of Quinnipiac University and she served in that office for one year. Brown has taught at some of the most prestigious law schools in the country, including Yale, Harvard, Georgetown, Emory and the University of Illinois. For several years, Brown served as a visiting lecturer and senior research scholar at Yale Law School. She also served as secretary on the board of directors for Freedom to Marry until the organization fulfilled its mission and happily went out of business. She currently serves on the board of trustees for Connecticut Public Broadcasting Inc. and the board of trustees for Goodspeed Musicals in East Haddam, Connecticut.
