Joshua Freund began his career working as an Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic and educating at the University of Maryland Baltimore County in Emergency Health Services, specializing in paramedic education. He received numerous accolades, including highest academic honors and student of the year. He went on to Quinnipiac University, receiving a Master of Health Science and training as a physician assistant. He has had a varied clinical career, including time in primary care, occupational medicine, emergency medicine, pediatric emergency medicine, outpatient internal medicine, community health, and urgent care. During the COVID pandemic, he served at Bridgeport Hospital on the hospitalist service, practicing inpatient internal medicine. In 2022, he began an internship here at Quinnipiac University in the physician assistant studies department, coinciding with his doctoral education at the University of Lynchburg. He received that degree specializing in medical education and joined the faculty at Quinnipiac University in 2023. His doctoral studies included research and publication in the field of noncognitive traits of physician assistant students. His academic interests currently involve transition to clinical practice and didactic and clinical remediation.
