Larisa Gretchen Bowman

Larisa G. Bowman is an Assistant Professor of Law at Quinnipiac University School of Law, where she teaches the Civil Justice Clinic and Housing Law and Policy. Her teaching and scholarship center on access to justice, eviction defense, and tenants' rights, with a particular focus on the structural failures of high-volume civil courts. Her recent work has appeared in the Stanford Law Review Online and Loyola University Chicago Law Journal.

Before coming to Quinnipiac, Professor Bowman taught a variety of experiential courses at the University of Iowa College of Law and Drake Law School. She also was the inaugural Court Innovation Fellow at Stanford Law School's Deborah L. Rhode Center on the Legal Profession and a Project Fellow with the American Law Institute. In practice, she was the Managing Attorney of Clinical Programs at Iowa Legal Aid and Deputy Director of the Housing Unit at Lenox Hill Neighborhood House (New York City). Prior to that, she supervised law students in their clinical work at the Stanford Community Law Clinic and the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau.

Professor Bowman is a former Skadden Fellow and clerked for the late Chief Justice Ralph D. Gants of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and Judge William G. Young of the U.S. District Court for Massachusetts. She earned her J.D. from Stanford Law School and her B.A. from Brown University.
