Associate Professor of Medical Sciences
Dr. Anand is an Associate Professor of Medical Sciences and an Albert Schweitzer Faculty Fellow at Quinnipiac University. His teaching focuses on Microbiology and Infectious Diseases. He also directs an award-winning elective curriculum on leadership and teamwork for medical students.
Dr. Anand trained in Delhi, India including medical school and residency at Delhi University at one of the highest volume tertiary care centers in India with a high burden of tropical medicine. He moved to the US in 2004 and did his Medicine residency at Temple University in Philadelphia, followed by an Infectious Diseases fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University. He also completed a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation focusing on implementation science and quality improvement, and an MBA (healthcare track) at the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
He has had diverse work experiences ranging from the underserved areas of Bronx, NY running an HIV center of excellence, to working at the University of Utah and the George E. Wahlen Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Salt Lake City practicing travel and tropical medicine, transplant ID and orthopedic ID, to practicing across the spectrum of community based clinical infectious diseases inpatient and outpatient including travel medicine, HIV, Hepatitis C care and serving as the Hospital Epidemiologist for Middlesex Health in Middletown, Connecticut. Dr. Anand currently serves as faculty for the Infectious Diseases Society of America's Leadership Institute, and as the acting Director of Infectious Diseases at Community Health Services, Hartford.
Dr. Anand is passionate about teaching the art and science of Infectious Diseases, leadership and teamwork to all levels of learners to advance our shared mission of building the healthcare system of the future starting right here at the University of the future.
