Stephen Gilles graduated from St. John’s College (Annapolis) in 1976, and received his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School in 1984. After clerking for U.S. Circuit Judge Robert Bork and U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, he practiced as an appellate litigator, and subsequently taught at the University of Chicago Law School. He has been a Professor of Law at the Quinnipiac University School of Law since 1995. He has visited at Washington and Lee Law School and the John Marshall Law School. He teaches tort law, constitutional law, first amendment law, and law and economics. His research interests include tort law and constitutional law, especially issues of substantive due process such as parental and reproductive rights.
