Dr. Valerie Strange is a registered occupational therapist with more than 40 years of healthcare experience and 15 years as an educator at Quinnipiac University. Over the past 25 years, her clinical practice has focused on early intervention, school-based services, and community-based programs supporting children, youth, and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Her expertise centers on holistic, strengths-based approaches to occupational development and participation, with particular emphasis on facilitating successful transitions across the lifespan from early childhood through adulthood.
Dr. Strange is deeply committed to collaborative, person-centered care and works closely with families, educators, healthcare professionals, and community organizations to promote inclusive opportunities and coordinated support systems. She currently serves as a Clinical Professor of Occupational Therapy and Assistant Director of the Center for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice at Quinnipiac University.

A strong advocate for community engagement and inclusion, Dr. Strange serves on the Advisory Board for Best Buddies Connecticut and is the Faculty Advisor for Camp No Limits at Quinnipiac University, supporting programming for children with limb loss and limb differences and their families. She has also developed numerous service-learning and interprofessional initiatives that connect students with community partners while addressing meaningful health and participation needs.

For more than a decade, Dr. Strange has designed and facilitated interprofessional education programs, presented nationally on collaborative practice and IPE, and is a Distinguished Fellow of the National Academy of Practice Occupational Therapy Academy.
