Reduce Your MAT Tuition by Up to 50%
Tuition Remission
Quinnipiac’s Master of Arts in Teaching program offers a distinct financial advantage through paid internships and residency experiences that can significantly reduce tuition costs.
If you are enrolled in the MAT portion of this dual-degree program, you may be eligible to:
Reduce your tuition by up to 50% through paid internships and residency placements
Earn real-world classroom experience in partnership school districts
Gain hands-on teaching experience while receiving compensation that helps offset program costs
Graduate with practical skills and reduced debt, ready for the classroom
This pathway reflects the way teachers actually learn by practicing in real classrooms, alongside experienced mentor teachers, while making the cost of a graduate degree more manageable.
Your first graduate course begins immediately after you complete your undergraduate degree during a 7-week summer semester; this is the only semester you will be responsible for paying the full tuition and fees. You will then begin interning in a school while attending evening courses throughout the fall and spring semesters. The work you complete during this internship will cover a significant portion of your tuition, so you will only pay for three credits during the spring semester in addition to the fees for both semesters.
MAT Scholarships and Grants
90% tuition coverage through the Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program (STEM-Focused)
For students with STEM majors pursuing teacher certification, Quinnipiac has been awarded a Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program grant to support the development of highly qualified Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics teachers.
Through this program, participants may:
Participate in a full-year co-teaching residency alongside an experienced mentor teacher
Receive ongoing mentorship and professional development
Engage in STEM workshops, K–12 outreach activities, and national STEM education conferences
Paid Classroom Experience with Tuition Support through the ARPA Education Workforce Development Grant
To help address the teacher shortage in Connecticut, Quinnipiac University has been awarded a $127,500 grant through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Education Workforce Development program.
This funding supports students in the MAT program by offering:
Apprentice roles in partnering school districts
A paid salary stipend while gaining classroom experience
Tuition support that can help reduce the overall cost of the degree
All students seeking financial assistance need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online as soon as possible after it opens. The FAFSA opens on October 1 for the 2026-27 application.
Offer notifications are prepared by the Financial Aid Office and are issued to students to explain the details of the financial aid offer, which may include grants, scholarships, federal student loans and work study.
Complete your Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Note (MPN) online for federal loans
Student Borrowers: If you will be attending Quinnipiac’s undergraduate programs, and are a first-time student borrower of federal loans, the government requires you to complete an online Entrance Counseling Session (a short question/answer session regarding educational borrowing) and sign an electronic promise to repay your loans called a Master Promissory Note (MPN). The loan proceeds cannot disburse to the university on your behalf until the requirements are completed on the Federal Student Aid website, studentaid.gov. The process can be accessed 24 hours a day and will take approximately 20 minutes to complete.
To cover a remaining balance due to the university, after financial aid has been applied against the invoice, families have the choice of establishing a semester payment plan and/or borrowing from the Federal Direct Parent PLUS loan or a variety of private lenders.
Use the Net Price Calculator to understand what you might pay You may be surprised to know that nationwide — for students attending private, four-year colleges — the average family can pay much less than the college’s published price. The Net Price Calculator is the ideal tool to help full-time, incoming first-year students estimate what the annual cost* would be to attend Quinnipiac.
*It is important to note that the Net Price Calculator is only designed to provide estimates for full-time, first-year undergraduate students.
The receipt of additional assistance such as athletic scholarships, employee benefits, Tuition Exchange grants, veterans benefits, outside scholarships, etc., may affect the estimated aid being calculated. Please contact our office if you qualify for aid outside of the resources being provided in the calculator.
