Minor Overview

In this program, engineering students will learn to design for manufacturing, manufacturing processes and robotics systems, all while fostering innovative thinking to solve manufacturing problems and improve current processes.

Courses will prepare students to apply appropriate theories and methods to analyze and design manufacturing technologies and systems despite economic constraints or sustainability and environmental concerns. Students will also learn to communicate effectively about problem solutions, technologies and system designs.

Students pursuing this minor may tailor their learning experience by selecting one of three distinctive tracks, each offering specialized expertise and insights:

  • Mechatronics and Robotics

  • Production and Process Improvement

  • Six Sigma
