Summer Orientation

At Orientation you will begin your journey as a Bobcat! Our program is designed to help you and your family begin acclimating to our community. As you become acquainted with our campus, you’ll register for courses and learn about resources and services from a variety of campus partners. We’ll teach you about our traditions, and we’ll help connect you with other incoming students and their families. Each session will offer programs for both students and family members.

August Orientation

Several orientation groups sit on the quad by the Quinnipiac library on a sunny summer day

Orientation is designed to assist new students with finding their way around Quinnipiac, register for classes, learn more about procedures and expectations — and start meeting fellow Bobcats!

Registration for Orientation is available in Q-Start, the new student onboarding portal.

First-Year and Transfer Students

Orientation will take place on Thursday, August 20, for new first-year students and transfer students who did not attend Orientation in June.

Move in: Students participating in August Orientation will move in Wednesday, August 19.

Please note:

  • An orientation fee will be applied to the first tuition statement in June. Orientation is mandatory for all incoming students and is designed to support a smooth transition to Quinnipiac.

  • The majority of new students attended Orientation in June and do not need to attend again.

What to Pack

We recommend casual dress, since you will be moving around campus quite a bit.

  • Photo identification, such as driver’s license, state ID or passport (it must have a photo)

  • A laptop computer with wireless internet capabilities. A smart phone, tablet, iPad, Chromebook and similar devices will not work, especially for course registration.  Make sure you are bringing a full laptop to campus.

  • Casual dress (comfortable shoes, sneakers)

  • Spending money (meals are included, but snacks, Quinnipiac gear, etc. are not)
