Nicole M. Casbarro
Assistant Professor of Nursing
Dr. Nicole Casbarro, DNP, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, APHN-BC, has more than 25 years of experience in nursing and healthcare, primarily in pediatrics. Her clinical background includes pediatric oncology, intensive care, cardiothoracic surgical intensive care, emergency care, and pediatric primary care. She is board certified as both a Family Nurse Practitioner and an Advanced Holistic Nurse Practitioner and continues to practice in pediatric primary care.
At Quinnipiac University, Dr. Casbarro teaches in undergraduate and doctoral nursing programs and has taught across the BSN, FNP, and DNP curricula. She has contributed extensively to the development and implementation of Quinnipiac's competency-based undergraduate nursing curriculum and advises DNP students completing evidence-based quality improvement projects.
Her scholarship includes the development and evaluation of a therapeutic greenhouse and garden-based health education initiatives, as well as holistic and innovative approaches to nursing education. She has presented and published this work locally and nationally. Her professional interests include holistic nursing, pediatric health promotion, and integrative health and wellness.
