Communications Dual-Degree Bachelor’s/Master’s (4+1) Admissions

We make our admission process as straightforward and personalized as possible. If you have any questions or need guidance, our counselors and advisers in the School of Communications are available to assist you at every stage of your application process.

Application Timeline

Application materials are due in the third week of February of the student’s junior year using a special application form available at the Ed McMahon Communications Center reception area.

Required Documents

Applicants for the program must submit:

  • one-page statement that explains your decision to pursue graduate education
  • current resume
  • 2 letters of recommendation (at least 1 from a professor in your major)

Early Action and Regular Decision: 
These application plans are non-binding. 

*The admissions committee will make every effort to have a decision to applicants within two weeks from the time an application is complete. Priority is given to those applying by February 1. Applications received after February 1 will be considered as part of our Regular Decision program. Check your admissions status
