Judy A. Deshpande

Clinical Instructor of Nursing

Judy Deshpande is a Clinical Instructor in the School of Nursing. Judy had been an RN since 1986, and became an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, in 1991. Judy did her qualitative research around emergency department utilization among underserved populations. Her career path has taken her from bedside nursing to the Emergency Department, ICU, Pain Management, Student Health, Urgent Care, and full circle back to Primary Care. Judy remains in practice as she feels very connected to patient care. Along the way, Judy has always enjoyed education, both as a student and educator. Knowledge is power and sharing and receiving knowledge is Judy’s passion. Becoming faculty in the School of Nursing is a dream realized.
Throughout her career, Judy has taught in many settings. Judy served as a hospital educator, a preceptor, ACLS instructor, and Adjunct Faculty to Quinnipiac Graduate Students in her clinical setting since 2003. Education never stops for Judy, so she will be learning alongside those she teaches for the rest of her career.
Originally from Wisconsin, Judy is Green Bay Packer fan, and you will often hear her represent her fellow Cheese Heads. She moved to Connecticut with her 3 children in 2000, and quickly adapted and adopted the East Coast lifestyle. Judy, along with her family, enjoy all the shoreline has to offer, as well as a train into the city. Staying active with friends and family and her educational community is what keeps Judy energized and joyful.
