Quinnipiac community members will engage in a series of conversations on current issues, using compassion as a lens and a tool for understanding and action. The schedule has been designed to allow for community members to drop in and out – as convenient – with the Thursday class schedule on the Mt. Carmel campus. Each session will have a theme for conversation, and will begin with music and a reflection, and conclude with an exercise or tool to bring into our daily lives. Our lunchtime keynote speaker, Scarlett Lewis, from the Jesse Lewis Choose Love movement, will share her experience cultivating compassion as a basis for a peaceful society. This event is brought to you by the Albert Schweitzer Institute in collaboration with the Connecticut Center for Compassion and Creativity. Schedule: 9:00 – opening remarks 9:30 – Political Polarization 11:00 – Climate Change: preparing for the future 12:30 – Keynote: Scarlett Lewis 2:00 – Armed Conflict 3:30 – Activism: making a positive change
