Saleh M. Rahman, MD

Associate Dean for Equity, Inclusion and Diversity

Professor of Medical Sciences

Dr. Rahman is the inaugural Associate Dean for Equity, Inclusion and Diversity at Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine, Quinnipiac University. Dr. Rahman is an accomplished educator, researcher, and administrator. Before joining Netter, he worked at the University of Central FL, College of Medicine as a tenured Professor of Medicine and as the Interim Assistant Dean for Diversity and Inclusion. He also served at the Institute of Public Health at Florida A&M University as a founding faculty for the Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) program, faculty of FSU-TMH Internal Medicine, and Florida State University General Surgery Residency Programs.
His scholarship has focused on health equity, social determinants of health, community-based participatory research, Cancer Prevention, and Control and global health. He has received multi-million-dollar grants from NIH and served as the Director of Community Outreach and Preventive Services Core, P20 Center of Excellence for Cancer Research, Training, and Community Service, and led the Global Health Disparity at the Health Equity Center, FAMU. He received the Public Health Teacher of the Year award in 2013, the American Public Health Association-PHEHP Early Career Award in 2006, the AACR Minority-Serving Institution Faculty Scholar Award in 2008 and 2010, and the Outstanding Community Services Award in 2019.
Dr. Rahman received his medical degree from Sir Salimullah Medical College, Dhaka University, Bangladesh, a Post-Graduation Short Fellowship in Endocrinology, Joslin Diabetes Center, Harvard Medical School under the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Award, a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard University School of Public Health, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree from U.A.B. School of Public Health. Dr. Rahman is also a published author in his mother tongue (Bengali) and has published so far 38 books in creative writing under the pen name: Sezan Mahmud and received numerous awards and recognition in art and literature.
