Accelerated BS in Nursing Admissions

We make our admission process as straightforward and personalized as possible. If you have any questions or need guidance, our counselors and advisers in the School of Nursing are available to assist you at every stage of your application process.

How to Apply

August 2023 Cohort

Courses begin in August with students taking their nursing courses with a more traditional class schedule.

  • Application Deadline: March 1, 2023

    • The School of Nursing admissions committee begins review of completed applications in February and March, with notification of decisions in March.

  • Program Start Date: August 28, 2023 (Fall semester start)

January 2024 Cohort

The program is delivered in a hybrid model with a mixed delivery system composed of on-ground labs, on-site clinical experiences and both online and on-ground didactic classes.

  • Application Deadline: August 1, 2023

    • The School of Nursing admissions committee begins review of completed applications in August, with notification of decisions starting in September.

  • Program start date: January 2, 2024 (January Term start)

Admission Requirements

Admission requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s degree: Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university
  • GPA: Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (B)
  • Completion of prerequisite course work: All prerequisite courses must be taken within the last 5 years with a grade of B- or better and must be completed prior to entering the accelerated track.
    • Microbiology with a lab (4 credits total)
    • Anatomy & Physiology I with a lab (4 credits total)
    • Anatomy & Physiology II with a lab (4 credits total)
    • Statistics

Please note that admission is competitive and that meeting the minimum admission standard does not guarantee admission.

Tuition Assistance for Aspiring Nurses

The CT Health Horizon’s grant will allow Quinnipiac to provide $10,000 per student per year in tuition assistance for qualifying accelerated bachelor of science in nursing (ABSN) students with the goal of increasing the number and diversity of students in this program.
