Parking Fee for all Undergraduate Commuter Students begins Spring 2022

As was communicated in the 2020-2021 academic year, undergraduate commuter students will be charged a parking fee beginning with the spring 2022 term. As part of this change, the current blue commuter parking decals will be expired and both undergraduate and graduate students will be issued a new decal. Please follow these directions to ensure your parking decal is received and installed on your vehicle prior to the start of the spring term:

Undergraduate Commuters Registration and Purchase Process

  • All undergraduate commuter students must register for a new parking permit by December 3, 2021.

  • To register for a new parking decal, log into My Parking

  • The new undergraduate commuter decal will be valid from the date of issue through August 31, 2022.

  • During the registration process the student will be prompted to pay the $90 fee* via credit or debit card.

  • Students print the temporary permit and put it in their dashboard. The old blue decal should be removed and discarded.

  • Parking decals will be printed beginning the week of December 6 and students will receive an email when their decal is ready for pick up in the One Stop office (ABL S101). Students are highly encouraged to pick up their decal prior to winter break.

  • Public Safety will be looking for the new decal beginning the first day of the Spring 2022 term, which is January 24, 2022. Beginning on January 25, 2022 any undergraduate commuters without the new decal may not be able to enter campus or will be ticketed.

  • Parking decals which are not picked up by add/drop will be expired. Students will need to register again and pay for a replacement.

*For students who demonstrate a financial difficulty and meet the requirements below, the fee will be waived.

Requirements for Exemption:

  • Must have completed a FAFSA for the academic year in which the exemption is requested.

  • Must be Pell-eligible according the FAFSA for the academic year in which the exemption is requested.

  • Must not have any unpaid parking tickets beginning July 1, 2021 until present.

  • Must not have more than 5 parking tickets (paid or unpaid) in total across all years at Quinnipiac.

  • Must apply for the exemption prior to requesting a parking decal and before add/drop.

  • Must complete the exemption form completely.

Parking FAQs

The commuter permit that used in the past will now be transitioned into two permits — an undergraduate commuter permit and a graduate commuter permit without a fee.

A new decal in a new color will be printed and mailed to the address on record in the My Parking application. Graduate students must install the new decal promptly upon receipt and remove and destroy the old blue decal. Public Safety will be looking for the new decal beginning the first day of the Spring 2022 term, which beings January 24, 2022. Beginning on January 25, 2022 any commuters without the new decal may not be able to enter campus or will be ticketed.

Transportation and Shuttles

Shuttle buses are offered to connect our three campuses and our local community. The shuttles are run by Public Safety. Please view the Department of Public Safety page on MyQ (login required) for the shuttle schedule and more information.
