Student Health Services

Hartford HealthCare is Quinnipiac's partner to operate our on-campus Student Health Services. With successful experience serving student populations at other institutions, HHC offers a collaborative and coordinated healthcare model and the ability to provide expert consultation to the university on a wide range of campus health issues, including student wellness, mental health, athletic training and infection prevention strategies.

Counseling and Support

Our Counseling Services is partnered with Hartford HealthCare to provide resources for a variety of mental health issues and situations such as stress, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, sexual violence, eating disorders, grief, and alcohol or drug abuse — all at no cost.

Academic Support Services

The Learning Commons provides a wide range of academic support services geared toward individual strengths, learning styles and goals. Our approach does more than raise test scores. Peer educators and support staff members teach students to think and learn with intention and to make connections between many academic disciplines.

Public Safety

Quinnipiac is home to one of the safest campus communities in the country. Our Department of Public Safety provides 24/7 coverage while EMTs in our emergency medical services program are ready to respond to any health emergency. Walking escort services are available on campus 24/7 and Blue Light emergency phones are accessible throughout our campuses.

Parking, Transportation and Shuttles

Quinnipiac offers several parking lots on and nearby the Mount Carmel, North Haven and York Hill campuses. We also offer a free shuttle system connects our three campuses and our local community, including area shopping and entertainment destinations, restaurants and transportation hubs.

Lactation Centers

To offer enhanced support for our students, staff and faculty who are new mothers opting to breast-feed their babies, Quinnipiac is pleased to provide multiple lactation rooms across the campus, tailored to the needs of nursing mothers.

Bobcat Food Share program

The Bobcat Food Share was established to address food insecurity among students. Students both in need of short- or long-term help may access nutritious meals from this program. Arrangements will be made for pick-up at one of the three campuses. This program is a collaboration between Student Affairs, Chartwells and a volunteer network of student groups, faculty and staff.

Graduate Work Opportunities

The university offers students the ability to work within the university community. Graduate Assistantships are available on a limited basis, to both full- and part-time graduate students.

Academic Graduate Assistantships

Students working in areas of instructor assistance, professional service or research will receive a tuition waiver for hours of service performed. Students who work 150 hours in a semester will receive a 3-credit tuition waiver.

Administrative Graduate Assistantships

Students working in an administrative support area will receive a paycheck for the hours worked, the average hours awarded are 10 hours weekly. Generally, students work 10 hours weekly per semester.

RecWell

The new Recreation and Wellness Center offers facilities and programming to meet a wide range of health and wellness services. We offer dozens of classes and experiences each week, including Balletone, barre, bootcamp, HIIT, several types of yoga, hiking, meditation, Pilates, small group training, Spinning®, Ugifit® and Zumba®.
