The program offers the qualified pre-physician assistant student the opportunity to pursue a master’s degree in the physician assistant program at Quinnipiac. The program is divided into a four-year pre-professional component and a 27-month professional component. Following successful completion of the pre-professional component, students receive a Bachelor of Science in Health Science Studies.
The pre-professional component provides students with a well-rounded education and a strong focus in biological and health science studies. This very structured and organized undergraduate program not only prepares students for the rigors of the professional component of the program, but also introduces students to the role and responsibilities of physician assistants. The program addresses the need for medical experience by providing students with emergency medical technician (EMT) training as well as extensive time shadowing and mentoring with practicing physician assistants. EMT ride time and shadowing experiences take place at off-campus sites, generally within 50 miles of the Mount Carmel Campus. Students are responsible for transportation to and from all off-campus sites. In addition, students must meet specific program health requirements for participation in the shadowing experiences. Program costs associated with the preclinical affiliations and EMT course, including uniform, parking, certification exam, health requirements documentation, background check and additional program fees are the responsibility of the student.
Students should be aware that certain preclinical sites may require a criminal background check before a student is placed in the clinic or intern site. The university has procedures to assist students in obtaining such a background check. The cost of the background check is the responsibility of each individual student. All students are required to have a new or updated background check upon progression to the graduate physician assistant program.

Offer notifications are prepared by the Financial Aid Office and are issued to students to explain the details of the financial aid offer, which may include grants, scholarships, federal student loans and work study.
To cover a remaining balance due to the university, after financial aid has been applied against the invoice, families have the choice of establishing a semester payment plan and/or borrowing from the Federal Direct Parent PLUS loan or a variety of private lenders.
Use the Net Price Calculator to understand what you might pay
You may be surprised to know that nationwide — for students attending private, four-year colleges — the average family can pay much less than the college’s published price. The Net Price Calculator is the ideal tool to help full-time, incoming first-year students estimate what the annual cost* would be to attend Quinnipiac.
*In assessing a family's Expected Family Contribution (EFC), the university requires just the FAFSA form. Families that know their federal EFC can enter these figures into the calculator when prompted. For those who have not yet completed the FAFSA, you will need to have estimated income, tax and asset data available for the calculator to provide you with an estimation of your eligibility for grants, scholarships, loans and work-study programs.
It is important to note that the Net Price Calculator is only designed to provide estimates for full-time, first-year undergraduate students.
The receipt of additional assistance such as athletic scholarships, employee benefits, Tuition Exchange grants, veterans benefits, outside scholarships, etc., may affect the estimated aid being calculated. Please contact our office if you qualify for aid outside of the resources being provided in the calculator.
Our undergraduate admissions counselors are here to answer any questions you may have and help you navigate the application process.
