Scholarships & Grants

Scholarships are awarded to incoming students through the admissions office and there are no separate applications to complete for scholarship consideration. Students are notified of their award in their letter of acceptance, and scholarships are renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study (or until the student achieves their bachelor's degree) as specified below, or as indicated otherwise on the initial scholarship letter. The amount of the award remains the same for each year. All scholarships are awarded by the admissions office and are not available to students who do not receive them in their initial year.  Students who drop below full-time, or fail to meet the minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average will be notified by the Office of Financial Aid if their scholarship will be discontinued. Students who lose their scholarship can appeal this decision and may be re-evaluated after an additional semester to have their scholarship reinstated.

In order to be considered a candidate for a scholarship, qualified applicants must meet all standards listed below.

Freshmen Scholarships ($6,500 - $25,000)

Scholarships are awarded by the admissions office based on a student's overall academic achievements.  In order to be considered a candidate for an academic scholarship, students generally rank in the top 25% of their high school class or better OR have a combined critical reading and math SAT score of at least 1100 (ACT composite >=25) .  Students can receive our Trustee, Dean's or Quinnipiac Academic Scholarship which can be renewed for up to 4 undergraduate years (unless specified otherwise on the scholarship letter) providing that the student maintains a minimum cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (some scholarships require a higher cumulative GPA) and a full-time status.  Scholarships are never increasable but are renewable for the time period specified in the student's scholarship letter.  Scholarships are only offered to incoming students.

Multiple Sibling Award  ($2,000 per year, per eligible sibling)

Full-time, undergraduate siblings concurrently in attendance at Quinnipiac, are eligible to receive an additional $2,000 award per year, in addition to their regular financial aid award. This award is applicable toward tuition, room and board and is renewable each year in which undergraduate eligible siblings are concurrently in attendance.

International Student Scholarship  (amount varies)

Quinnipiac offers a small pool of scholarship funds which are awarded to international students who demonstrate strong academic achievement. Students must have a complete admissions application on file by March 1. Students must provide a statement of financial support for the remainder of their costs. Renewal is based upon continuing as a full-time student while maintaining satisfactory academic progress as outlined in the Quinnipiac University Catalog.

Transfer Student Scholarship  ($6,500 — $18,000)

Transfer candidates are automatically reviewed for merit scholarship, including Phi Theta Kappa awards, during the admissions process. There is no separate application or form necessary. Students with an overall cumulative GPA of 3.3 are considered. Awards range between $5,000 and $20,000 per year and are renewable provided the student maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.0 at Quinnipiac. Scholarships are offered only to incoming students.

Athletic Scholarships:

Athletic scholarships are available to incoming freshmen and transfer students. Quinnipiac University provides an NCAA Division I athletic program. Athletes must be recommended by the athletic director and coaching staff. Scholarships are based on the needs of the individual sports. For renewal, students must maintain satisfactory academic progress, full-time status and comply with both institutional and NCAA rules and regulations.

Part-time Students:
